In the Mew Smol Hours of the Morning

Mornings are fairly routine around here. However, I walked through the house one morning and encountered some interesting scenes.

A gate lying on its side at the bottom of some stairs.

In the mew smol hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
My cats are playing and having fun
Causing mayhem without a single peep

An automatic cat toy with its fabric all twisted up.

They're running into dishes and spilling water
Towels are on the bathroom floor
Toys are scattered everywhere
And some are floating in a water bowl

A crocheted mouse and a ping pong ball in the water bow.

But I don't mind, because I love my cats
And they make me laugh
Even in the mew smol hours of the morning
After they’ve behaved like scalawags

A bath towel pulled off the rack and in a pile on the floor.

So here's to my kitties
The best furbabies a person could ask for
May they always bring me joy
And keep me entertained morn after morn
